Elsewhere exists in the heart of the small town of Paonia, Colorado, located at the base of Lamborn Mountain in the West Elks on the western slope of the Rockies - west of Delta, and about 1.5 hours from Grand Junction. The town itself has a population of 1500, but the surrounding mesas hold another 5000. It is surrounded by orchards, farms, and vineyards.

Paonia has attracted artists, organic/biodynamic farmers and community minded folks for decades. This has resulted in a community of strong individuals, high interest in sustainable lifestyles, and a growing art scene where the mountains meet the desert. When you drive into town and first see the two blocks of main street, it can be hard to believe that this little town supports such a vibrant community. However, if you happen by the Paradise Theater for one of their many events, catch the night scene at Louie’s, sip on some locally brewed beer at the revolution brewery, or happen by the park on a Thursday evening for our local radio station’s “Pick’n in the Park”, it can be a lot easier to understand.

Things to do & Places to go

In the town of Paonia...

PARADISE THEATER - Check out a movie, go to the premier of an original musical, or see up & coming bands.

Farms

The North Fork Valley is famous for it's produce, grass-fed meat, and out-of-this-world eggs. Foodies from all over come to experience the delights this valley produces. Spring and summer bring fruit (cherries, apples, apricots, peaches the size of your head!) and veggies that are borderline psychedelic. There are actually too many farms to list! Check out them here.
