M.U.S.E Teahouse @ Elsewhere

‘Members United in Sacred Existence’

A community hub and gathering place in the Heart of the Elsewhere portal

Located in the basement of the Elsewhere Studios building, the M.U.S.E Teahouse will be the daily gathering space that weaves everything together. We are fundraising now and planing to be in the BUILD-OUT faze later this summer. You will be cordially and ridiculously invited to celebrate with us for our grand opening Tea Party Event!

The M.U.S.E Teahouse is Elsewhere's community hub and portal — where artists, healers, makers, seekers, and neighbors come together. It is a place to learn, to heal, to belong, gathered around tea, elixirs, and the ever-present invitation of the Muse.

The Muse Teahouse will host:

  • Classes and art parties

  • Practitioners space for healers, teachers, and guides.

  • Storytelling nights and open mics

  • Community salons and dialogues

  • Youth workshops and presentations

  • Artist fundraisers and showcases

  • Informal mentorship and collaboration

Everyone is welcome to descend.

A gathering place rooted in the Arts and Sciences of the Sacred — Art, Theater, Sacred Geometry, Rites of Passage, Magick, and Alchemy — where the community can learn, heal, and gather.

  • The Practitioners Space: A dedicated space for healers, teachers, and guides. Available for sessions, classes, workshops, and one-on-one work.

  • The Living Classroom Devoted to the Arts and Sciences of the Sacred — Art, Theater, Sacred Geometry, Rites of Passage, Magick, and Alchemy. Below street level, below the ordinary, at the center of a building that has always known what it was — the M.u.s.e Teahouse is where Elsewhere comes to ground.

Our community space will be open Thu-Fri 4pm-10pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am-10pm

If you are interested in volunteering to be one of our tea tenders or to help in the kitchen preparing foods, please email info@elsewherestudios.org

The McKenna Basement

It was here that Terence McKenna — Paonia's own visionary son, philosopher, psychonaut, ethnobotanist, and bard — is said to have spent time in this building in the 60s, opening a portal in the basement.

The mythology lives in the walls. The portal lives in the earth at the center of the space. The M.U.S.E Teahouse exists, in part, because of what he found here — and because of what continues to rise from this place into the hands and minds and voices of everyone who enters.

McKenna spoke and wrote about psychedelic plants, shamanism, alchemy, language, metaphysics, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness. He was also the creator of a mathematical theory of time based on patterns found in the I Ching, which he termed novelty theory. Absolutely the right ancestor for a basement portal!

The Teahouse holds that portal at its center — consecrated to the Muse, honoring McKenna's legacy, and keeping faith with the tradition of visionary explorers who understood:

"This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed." — Terence McKenna

This is a space created for the deep work — a gift to the unknown but often glimpsed, where we arrive at ourselves over and over again.

The imagination is the goal of history. Culture is an effort to literally realize our collective dreams.
